Albert Einstein - How I See the World

“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think. -Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein navigated the twilight turf between consciousness and matter for much of his life. He argued that “Man” suffers from an “optical delusion of consciousness” as he “experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest.” His cure? “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious,” he said. “It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: His eyes are closed.”
“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” -Albert Einstein

“The true value of a human being is determined primarily by the measure and the sense in which he has attained liberation from the self.” -Albert Einstein

10 Lessons from Albert Einstein:

1. Follow Your Curiosity
“I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”

2. Perseverance is Priceless
“It’s not that I’m so smart; it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”

3. Focus on the Present
“Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.”

4. The Imagination is Powerful
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions. Imagination is more important than knowledge.”

5. Make Mistakes
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”

6. Live in the Moment
“I never think of the future – it comes soon enough.”

7. Create Value
“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”

8. Don’t be repetitive
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

9. Knowledge Comes From Experience
“Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience.”

10. Learn the Rules and Then Play Better
“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.”

“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.” -Albert Einstein

The Evolution of Consciousness

“You must unlearn what you have been ‘programmed’ to believe from birth. That software no longer serves you if you want to live in a universe where all things are possible.” -Jacqueline E. Purcell

The world is in crisis and transformation. Now, our civilization has the opportunity to evolve its thinking. We are beginning to realize that the old ways of competition and 'survival of the fittest' are not sustainable for individuals, businesses, or the planet. Nature may be our most qualified life coach, with millions of years of experience in creating sustainability. It's time to look to Her wisdom for some answers. It's time to do something different; the evolution occurs when we try smarter - not harder!
“The crisis is a crisis in consciousness, a crisis that cannot anymore accept the old norms, the old patterns, the ancient traditions and considering what the world is now, with all the misery, conflict, destructive brutality, aggression and so on. Man is still as he was, is still brutal, violent, aggressive, acquisitive, competitive and... he has built a society along these lines.” -Jiddu Krishnamurti

“We don't have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.” -Howard Zinn
“The awakening of consciousness is the next evolutionary step for mankind.” -Eckhart Tolle.

What Does School Really Teach Children?

People are not being educated; they're being tested for levels of obedience. School is about memorizing what you are told short term and repeating it. The bulk of how you are graded is by completing daily work. Obedience is, in fact, work force's most important quality in a worker bee.
“School is the advertising agency which makes you believe that you need the society as it is.” -Ivan Illich

“When Students cheat on exams it's because our School System values grades more than Students value learning.” -Neil deGrasse Tyson

“The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed a standard citizenry, to put down dissent and originality.” -H.L. Mencken

When children start going to school, not only they spend most of their day in the classroom, but they start being conditioned to the 8 to 5 schedule which will be the blueprint of their future.

Let's highlight the main points that the education system is very successful in imprinting on the minds of our children:

  • Truth comes from Authority
  • Intelligence is the ability to remember and repeat
  • Accurate memory and repetition are rewarded
  • Non compliance is punished
  • Conform: Intellectually and socially

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” -Albert Einstein
“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” -Alvin Toffler

Education should be a process of stimulating and awakening people at the core of their being, thereby enabling them to sense the reality of interconnectedness, to appreciate the infinite potential in each person, in order to unlock and develop the power within to create happiness.

Lessons from STEVE JOBS

Think different as Apple Inc says:Image
If you do not want to be another brick in the wall,
you have to have a colour that would make you look different. You might be thinking where others’ frequencies do not match. It is okay to think different as far as it makes sense to you. You might not get accepted right now but later you would be called a pioneer. Thinking different would invite criticism and harsh comments. You need to pay the cost to be different. But as we have witnessed, the cost is totally worth it. Steve was never accepted by his generation people as he was way ahead of times. He never got worried about this. You ought to believe in your ideas, thinking and efforts. Rest all will follow.

Never give up on your ideas:
He did what he wanted to. He had an idea to change the world with technology which would be utility plus beautiful. His own conviction was so infectious that any idea from his brain would hit a button in your mind – “I AGREE”. He worked day in day out to make ideas feasible and make sense to people. He was pulled down with every idea but more he was pulled the more he repelled to make it happen. That is how winning is done.

Don’t accept the defeat:
He survived criticism. He was thrown out from the company he created. He has three biggest brands of their respective industries. He survived cancer. He enjoyed every phase of life even if it is a challenge or crisis. He was written off after Apple Inc throwing him out. But as they say – you are defeated only when you accept the defeat.

It is okay of few people have issues with you:
He was known for his demanding perfectionist management style which did not make him a favourite of many of his subordinates and peer. But he was a man who would achieve what he said. He knew people might not like me for the kind of leader he was, but he was there to make the idea and people work and not the relationship. It is okay if someone dislikes you as it is a matter of acceptance of other person’s style. There is nothing personal about it.

Chanakya – Must Read Story

Once, a Chinese traveler came to meet Kautilya (Chanakya). It was dusk and darkness had just started to set in. When the traveler entered Chanakya’s room, he saw that Chanakya was busy writing some important papers under the lighting of an oil lamp. You know that there were no bulbs or tube lights in those days, since there was no electricity. So, in those days people used to light oil lamps. Chanakya smilingly welcomed his guest and asked him to sit. He then quickly completed the work that he was doing.
But do you know what did he do on completing his writing work? He extinguished the oil lamp under which he was writing and lit another lamp. The Chinese traveler was surprised to see this. He thought that maybe this was a custom followed by Indians when a guest arrives at their home. He asked Chanakya, “Is this a custom in India, when a guest arrives at your house? I mean, extinguishing one lamp and lighting the other?” Chanakya replied, “No my dear friend. There is no such custom. Actually, when you entered, I was working. It was an official work, pertaining to my empire, my nation. The oil filled in that lamp has been bought from the money from the National treasury. Now, I am talking to you. This is a personal and friendly conversation, not related to my nation; so I cannot use that lamp now, as it will lead to wastage of the money of the national treasury. Hence, I extinguished that lamp and lit this other lamp, since the oil in this lamp has been bought from my personal money.”
It is amazing to see how principled our Acharyas’ (spiritual leaders) were. On seeing such high moral standards of our ancient spiritual leaders, sometimes it feels that we should try to emulate them, at least a little. They had such pure behaviour, pure conduct, pure mind and a pure conscience! Just ask yourself, what honorary title should we give to such men? They had reached such a high intellectual level! When will we learn to be like them? Actually, our current political leaders should learn from them; but unfortunately, no one is ready to learn.
I wish, our Politicians should Read and Respond…

Way to handle with insult:

The Buddha explained how to handle insult and maintain compassion.

One day Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. “You have no right teaching others,” he shouted. “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake.”Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man “Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?”The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, “It would belong to me, because I bought the gift.”The Buddha smiled and said, “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself.”
“If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others, everyone is happy.”
The young man listened closely to these wise words of the Buddha. “You are right, o Enlightened One, “he said. “Please teach me the path of love. I wish to become your follower.”

The Buddha answered kindly, “Of course. I teach anyone who truly wants to learn. Come with me.”

Mantras to Success

Dear Friends,
There is hardly anyone in this world who would not like to succeed. People in business want expansion, people in job want promotion. Some want to succeed for fame& some for happiness but a very little number of persons succeed in the way they wish to. Here are some mantras to success through which one can get success in his/her life:
If you can dream it you can get it: A person can get success only if he dreams because dreams work as a goal in life and when we have goal only then we can put effort for it, to make it true. The way to succeed to become bigger than you presently are is to dream big. Whether you think you can, or you can not, you are right. So, big dreams are necessary for success.
Beginning is the most important part of the work: No one can get success only by dreaming but one has to also start work to make his dream true.  Opportunities exists, but it has to find you working. As is said, “Every Financial genius is not Bill Gates but is someone who manages to earn more than his family can spend”. So it is not required to start with a big project only, begin with simple project also because a initial simple project will be a big project one day.
If You are a strong Believer in Luck, You will find the harder you work, the luckier you get: Luck is itself is not a path to success but if you work 7 days a week, 14 hours a day you will get lucky. “No Great things were ever done without great labour”- Swami Vivekananda  So, it should be kept in mind that luck starts only when you work hard.
Learning Commitment & Passion leads to success: To achieve a goal, no doubt hard work is important but work & efforts in the right direction under proper guidance are most important. Man at the top is usually someone who has been in habit of going to the bottom of things. So, continuous habit of learning with passion makes your success easy.
Two People can work on a problem better than one: Most of us are individually great performers but we must not forget the power of teamwork. So to find success in your desired way you should work in a team.
Example is better than precept: A successful person is one who can take work from other. To get people around you to work as per your requirement, you always need to set examples before issuing orders.
Small Opportunities are often the source of great beginning: Opportunities, however big or small, should never be left untapped; As goes the saying “Strike the Iron while it is Hot”. Right decision at the right time is very important.
Rome was not built in a day: Patience is the virtue of success. Success is a gradual process and requires constant efforts over a period of time. Delay in success should never be taken as failure.
Failure is an integral part of Success: As goes the saying, “It is no use crying over split milk”. Failure should always be taken as a step forward towards success and not a setback. “Your Most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning”-Bill Gates
Get Happiness out of your work or you may never know what happiness is: Always enjoy doing whatever work you have in hand. Work viewed as a burden or liability leads to unhappiness in life. Also keep in mind that due to work pressure your personal life should not adversely affected.
Many a Little makes a mickle: Yesterday is gone & future is unknown. It is only today you have control on. So planning in the present for future through savings, insurance & Investments etc., will pave the way for your success and ensure you a peaceful and prosperous life.
High Winds blow on high hills: The higher you go the toughest it gets. You should always be prepared to face competitors and their tactics. Normally, after succeeding, personal rivalry and ego become the major reason for pulling you towards downfall. Your companions in the journey of your success should also be your friends even when you reach the top. The biggest enemy of future success is past success. Continuous efforts are required to maintain the position at the top.

Remember:-

“Success is a journey, not a destination”
